Ccna
From Cisco Certification
The Cisco Certified Network Associate CCNA certification was once the prerequisite to all higher Cisco certifications before the CCENT certification was created to meet the demand for a lower level certification. Being certified as a CCNA provides the required skill level to install, administer, and troubleshoot medium sized routed and switched networks.
The CCNA certification has two exam options. Candidates may choose to take the single 640-802 CCNA exam, or two exams, which is the CCNA exam divided into the ICND1 and the ICND2 exams. Passing the ICND1 exam will give candidates their CCENT certification before going on to complete their CCNA, but adds to the cost of having to take two exams instead of one. The exams are very difficult and require a significant amount of preparation work. The certifications are valid for a period of three years.
It is common for CCNA holders to take on their Cisco Certified Network Professional CCNP certification when they are ready to take on larger roles and responsibilities.
