The Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician provides the skills required for entry-level network support positions, which is where many candidates will start their networking careers. This certification is usually the first step toward achieving a CCNA certification. Candidates learn to install, operate and troubleshoot small enterprise branch networks, including basic network security. The exam 640-822 ICND1 is 90 minutes long, and contains 50-60 questions. The CCENT certification is valid for 3 years.

To move up to the CCNA certification, candidates must next pass the 640-816 ICND2 exam.
